The global cult sensation that is Barry’s Bootcamp has launched in Sydney! What is Barry’s Bootcamp? Well, it’s a results driven workout kicking fitness trends to the curb as it turns 20 this year.
So, we asked Barry’s founding instructor Alicia Beveridge why she thinks you’ll love Barry’s from your very first class…
The workout stands the test of time
It’s been twenty years (and still going strong) since LA-based celebrity trainer, Barry Jay, created Barry’s Bootcamp. From high-end studios with all the trimmings to pre-ordering your smoothie from the Fuel Bar (yep, there’s a bar) to grab-and-go as you finish class, I think Barry’s is the pinnacle in fitness experiences.
Barry’s will have you on fire! You can burn up 1,000 calories.
It tones muscle, and boosts your resting metabolism so you continue burning calories after the class is over. Amen to the fitness gods for that! Barry’s combines strength and conditioning training with cardio. The workout pairs alternating bursts of intense anaerobic exercise with recovery periods to keep your heart rate elevated throughout the workout. You’ll burn more and increase your lean body mass, all while increasing your resting metabolic rate, so you’ll continue to burn calories while lying on the couch or at your desk.
Barry’s will have you seeing red…but in a good way!
The Red Room is magic! The signature red-tinted studio enables you to lose yourself in the primal rush of the workout. Stress falls away and the room becomes an ecosystem of collective accomplishment. Add in curated music with epic beats and an inspiring instructor with serious X-factor and you will be flooded with endorphins as you leave the Red Room. You will run, lift and work (out) harder than ever before.

Each day at Barry’s focuses on different muscle groups, providing a safe and effective way to transform your body. The programming carefully pairs opposing muscle groups to ensure your body has a perfect balanced workout, with adequate recovery. Also, we all come in different shapes and sizes, and have different focuses and priorities when it comes to our appearance and our bodies, so the breakdown of the week means you can pick and choose what you work on.

Barry’s classes cater for those new or getting back into exercise, to athletes. The class will challenge everyone individually despite their fitness level. You can set your own level of speed on the treadmills and choose the lightest or heaviness of your weights, depending on your experience and ability.
