How to launch a start up

Are you looking to launch a start-up in the wellness space? Or do you have an existing business that you’re looking to take to the next level? Then this competition is for you!

Designed with anyone wanting to start a health and fitness business in mind, the workshop – held in Bondi’s new boutique gym, The Well – brings together some of Australia’s most successful leaders in fitness and health, so you’ll learn the best way to launch your wellbeing business idea with practical advice, clear direction and insider secrets.

The evening workshop is hosted by editor Lucy E Cousins (Former Editor-in-chief of CLEO, DOLLY, Women’s Fitness and HCF magazines, current Wellness Editor of Marie Claire and founder of and PR specialist Brittany Bennett (owner of Brittany Bennett PR, specialising in health and fitness, and brand new fitness resource Fittopia).

Topics include ‘how to approach the media’, ‘building an online audience’, ‘collaborating successfully’, ‘promoting your business on a budget’, ‘creating an affective fitness brand’ and ‘scaling your ideas and business’.

Workshop Timings:
5.30pm – Choose an optional fitness class (Strength circuit or yoga)
6.30pm – Workshop begins
7.45pm – Networking break (snacks and drinks served)
9.30pm – Event finishes

Speakers include:

Alison Morgan – the founder of, with over 20 years experience in marketing, and health and fitness business coaching

Charlie de Haas – founder of hugely successful health food company, and a recently launched concept space

Georgia van Tiel – the co-founder of Body Pass, a very successful fitness class pass system, which was ultimately purchased by Fairfax. Georgia currently works with Seedily Drinks who will be providing drinks on the night.

Anthony Richardson – the founder of, who recently sold his product into the Pentagon and the world’s largest naval base

Ben Lucas – the owner of, and former professional rugby player and owner of three successful PT studios

Niall McCarthy – the co-founder of fitness workout smart app, which has more than 3 million downloads.

Fine print: The competition runs from 5pm, 20th March to 10am, 30th March. The winner will be contacted by 5pm, 30th March via email. The competition is a game of skill and open to Australian residents. All entrants will be subscribed to the newsletter, but ongoing subscription isn’t a condition of entry.
